Moscow Legal Forum «Kutafin Readings»
The ideological inspirer of the Moscow Legal Forum are Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL) and general partners of the Forum – Association of Lawyers of Russia and Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation.
The aim of the Forum is to provide an opportunity for comprehensive discussion on current issues between distinguished scientists, legal professionals and young scientists.
The name and papers of academician Oleg Kutafin, continue to remain the principal center of the Forum. They, traditionally, are the basis for discussing of the most complex and important issues of theory and practice of legal science and profession, further improvement of Russian legislation and reform of legal education.
A high level of representation is another tradition of our Forum. MLF brings together representatives of the leading Russian and foreign law schools, public authorities - the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Russian Federation, key ministries, departments and services, the highest judicial authorities of Russia participate in the work of the MLF. Their constant presence at the MLF guarantees relevance and topicality of the issues discussed and the problems raised.
The format of the Moscow Legal Forum allows for the widest range of scientific and practical discussions. The plenary session of the MLF opens a whole series of important events - from industry conferences and “round tables” to scientific and practical seminars, presentations of new projects and exhibitions of the latest legal literature.
The Forum's primary mission is to unite recognized theorists and practitioners with students, graduate students and young scientists. This makes the MLF a unique event, contributing to the meaningful integration of young people into the big legal science.
The history of the Forum began in 2014, when two major international conferences traditionally held by the Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL), Kutafin Readings and the Young Scholars Conference on Traditions and Innovations in the Modern Russian Legal System, as well as a number of roundtables and discussion panels were combined into one scientific forum.
