On June 25, 2020 the I Summer School of Foreign Law started at the Kutafin University (MSAL), which was organized by the MSAL International Cooperation Department. The event was attended by more than 60 participants, including representatives of France, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ireland, USA, Vietnam and Russia.
The Rector of the Kutafin University (MSAL) Victor Blazheev noted in his welcoming speech, that the Summer School has two specific features:
"The first one is related to the fact that we are talking about new digital technologies that affect all spheres of public life, and therefore, the law changes. The second circumstance is the exchange of experience between representatives of different states".
The agenda of the event implies intensive work over two days. The participants will receive 15 lectures from leading experts in the field of law from France, the United States of America, Great Britain, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Maria Egorova, Head of the International Cooperation Department, Professor of the Department of Competition Law.
"As part of the school's program, we will analyze the problems and challenges faced by lawyers not only from different countries, but also those specializing in different fields of law", concluded Maria Egorova.
At the end of her speech, the speaker reminded that participation in the school will not only enhance the existing specialized knowledge, but also develop soft skills, immersed in the international educational environment and communication with colleagues.
Head of the Chair of Integration and European Law Sergey Kashkin and Deputy Head of the Chair of Practical Law Daria Ponomareva also addressed to participants with welcoming speeches.
During the first day of the School lectures were given by Marcello D’APONTE, Professor of Labor and Employment law at the University of Naples Federico II, Daniel GUYOT, Arbiter of the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Member of the French Society of Comparative Legislation, Honorary attorney, Rein MÜLLERSON, Professor Emeritus at the Tallinn University in Estonia and the King's College London, Doctor of Law, Estelle FOHRER-DEDEURWAER, Director of the Institute for European, International and Comparative Law Studies, University of Toulouse 1 Capitole, Co-Director of the European School of Law, Alain DUFLOT, Professor at the Jean Moulin University Lyon 3, Lawyer, Founder of Duflot&Partners legal practice, Consul Honoraire du Guatemala, Co‑President of the International Alliance of Jurists and Economists of France, Marcin GLICZ, Assistant Professor, Deputy Director of the Institute of Law and Administration, Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk, Doctor of Law and Adrián VAŠKO, Assistant Professor at the Department of International and European Law and Legal Communication, Faculty of Law, Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.
