All foreign citizens located on the territory of the Russian Federation must be registered for migration purposes (have registration).

• If you will be living in the University dormitory, the University will register you for migration.
• Registration is mandatory for all foreign students
• The university handles this process for dormitory residents

No possibility to choose a dormitory or room

All foreign students must undergo a medical examination procedure annually.

The medical examination procedure must be undergone once a year every year of stay in the Russian Federation, and fingerprint registration once, regardless of your entries and exits from Russia.

Required Documents:

• Passport + copy of passport (main page with photo)
• Notarized translation of the passport into Russian (main page with photo) + copy
• Visa (if available) + copy
• Migration card + copy
• Notification of arrival + copy
• Funds for payment: 5,900 rubles

Cost: 5,900 rubles (~ $60 USD)

Annual requirement

Fingerprint registration and photographing is required after completing the medical examination.

Prerequisite: This procedure is only possible after passing the medical examination procedure and obtaining the corresponding certificates.

Required Documents:

• Passport + copy of passport (main page with photo)
• Notarized copy with translation into Russian (main page with photo) - must be stitched together with the attached copy of the passport
• Translation and notarization must be issued in the Russian Federation
• Visa (if available) + copy
• Migration card + copy
• Notification of arrival + copy
• Originals of documents confirming the passage of medical examination + their copies

One-time requirement

All foreign students must maintain current registration and inform the Department about any changes.

Registration Requirements:

All foreign students, if not registered for migration at the address of residence in the university dormitory, must provide a copy of the registration at the actual place of residence to the Department for Work with Foreign Students (offices 518, 508).

Important: A foreign student is obliged to inform the employees of the Department (offices 518, 508) within a 2-day period about the following changes:

Changes You Must Report (within 2 days):

• About leaving Moscow
• About changing the address of residence/stay
• About obtaining a new identity document
• About changing surname, name, patronymic, etc.
• When submitting an application for expulsion / academic leave
• About changes in marital status, family composition
• About obtaining a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP, TRPO) or Residence Permit for a foreign citizen
• About changing citizenship
