Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL) was ranked first in the ranking of organizations under the authority of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation as a result of the evaluation of staff potential and effectiveness of scientific activities in legal sciences.
The method of assessment of scientific potential of institutions was based on the following indicators:
1) number of Doctors and PhDs in law;
2) volumes of financing of legal research and development;
3) efficiency of preparation of highly qualified staff in post graduate and doctoral studies;
4) productivity of scientific research and development, including publication metrics, such as citation in WoS (Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science) and RSCI (Russian Science Citation Index), etc.
Ranking assessment for legal specialties is conducted between the universities hosting dissertation councils and/or training postgraduate students.
The source of data on the indicators is the system of monitoring of scientific and research activity of institutions of scientific organizations of the Ministry of education and science.
The training and research in Kutafin University are conducted on the widest in Russia range of fundamental and practical areas of law.
