The main topic of communication with Russian media journalists is the results of the admission campaign in 2019. This year, the university accepted about 16.5 thousand applications for 860 scholarships. The results of the introductory campaign show that the legal profession is not dying and there is great interest in it.
Blazheev said, “We are pleased that 30 winners and prize-winners of Kutafin Competition among schoolchildren became university students this year. This competition has reached a new All-Russian level. Next year, the Competition will have the opportunity to enter our University without entrance examinations. We are always very happy to meet talented youth within our walls and create the best possible conditions for its development”.
The most popular areas in 2019 for applicants were private and international law. The highest competition was at the Institute of Forensics. The new direction of training, associated with the legal regulation of the blockchain and IT technologies, is also popular. The University successfully operates the Department of Information Law and Digital Technology.
He said, “Following current trends should not be an end in itself, the fundamental basis of higher education must be preserved. Our University philosophy is to train lawyers in a traditional way and respond to modern challenges. A lawyer is a profession that is present in all areas of activity. Our help is needed in the international relationships, both in the economy and in healthcare. Energy, Sports Law is actively developing now. We give our students the opportunity to receive basic fundamental education, and further develop in any legal direction”.
As the chairman of Association of Lawyers of Russia, V. Blazheev announced several major events in the scientific and educational field. Therefore, this fall the International Kutafin Scientific and Practical Workshop is expected, and the next year there are International Legal IP Forum, Law Career Day and Moscow Legal Forum.
